We're seeking a strategic and collaborative Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement and materials planning for a U.S.-based manufacturer. This role ensures a reliable supply of raw materials for domestic production and manages global sourcing for other products. You'll supervise a small team and work closely with Sales, Finance, and Operations to optimize inventory, reduce costs, and strengthen supplier partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead purchasing for raw materials and globally sourced products
Manage and develop a team of purchasing/inventory staff
Inventory forecasting and demand planning
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Operations to align purchasing with business needs
Analyze procurement options and conduct cost-benefit analyses
Negotiate and manage contracts with domestic and international suppliers
Track and report on purchasing KPIs; set goals for cost savings and vendor reliability
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
5+ years' experience in purchasing/procurement/supply chain (manufacturing/distribution preferred)
2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
Strong negotiation and cost-saving track record
Professionalism in a fast-paced environment
Salary Range: $115,000-$125,000
