Qualifications:

CT Technologist High School Graduate or Equivalent Current American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school and ability to meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) C.T. Job Summary

CT Technologist

The Computed Tomography (C.T.) Technologist is a highly skilled professional who uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.

MRI Technologist

The MRI Technologist operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Duties

CT Technologist Operate head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer generated cross-sectional image, commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their examinations Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures Take patient medical history before an exam Position patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated Determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients Supervised by a board certified radiologist but afforded a great amount of independence and responsibility Performs other duties as assigned MRI Technologist Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance Assist radiologist with procedure performance Perform Radiological procedures when not performing MRI Duties Start I.V.'s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions Charge MR procedures and supplies in McKesson PACS &/or AS400 system Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration Maintain accurate patient records Provide orientation for new technologists Provide education and training for student technologists Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for MR procedures Coordinate scheduling and patient flow Assist with education and training of staff Assist radiologists in developing new protocols and MR imaging techniques Understand and use the McKesson PACS system Perform other duties as assigned Other Info:

Lifting Requirements

Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
