Thales is looking for a
Manager of Facilities, Health, Environment, Safety (HSE), and Security
to lead and manage all aspects of facilities operations, physical security, and HSE initiatives. This role provides both strategic direction and hands‑on oversight to ensure the site’s infrastructure, safety programs, and security protocols fully support business objectives and operational excellence.
In this position the manager will drive initiatives to strengthen workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and emergency preparedness, while overseeing the site’s physical security framework and access controls. The role also leads ongoing business continuity planning and cultivates a strong safety and security culture through proactive engagement with internal teams and external partners.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Lead building updates required to meet local needs, including Thales Safety, Security, and HSE needs, and manage facility updates or reorganization activities with minimal impact on operations.
Lead the annual facility budgeting process, participate in strategic business planning, oversee construction projects to support business expansion, and manage related supplier performance.
Enhance and maintain site security systems to meet U.S. Government, customer, and Thales needs; manage access control systems, enforce security policies, and conduct audits to ensure compliance.
Act as local subject‑matter expert on HSE requirements and their impact on company procedures and policies; deploy, maintain, improve, and promote the site’s HSE strategy; collaborate with worldwide Thales counterparts and lead the annual HSE management review with the executive team.
Partner with the Thales Sustainability team to identify carbon‑footprint reduction opportunities, calculate ROI, and lead the Business Continuity program across the site, including tabletop drills.
Participate in internal and external audits (OSHA, AS9100, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001); define, collect, and analyze operational indicators; assess results and suggest improvements; and analyze legal and other requirements applicable to HSE risks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HSE or other complex, regulated industry management role, with at least 3 years of demonstrated people‑leadership experience.
Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project) and basic internet protocols.
Familiarity with, or ability to become certified in, HSE regulations and standards such as OSHA, ISO14001, ISO45001, AS9100, or ISO9001.
Proficiency in developing relationships with various departments and stakeholders, both inside and outside the immediate perimeter of responsibility.
Experience with matrix management, influencing through indirect leadership, and managing goals and objectives from multiple stakeholders.
Eligible for Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated success in the leadership, planning, and execution of commercial services, contracts, and proposals.
Fork lift driving experience and fork lift trainer certification would be beneficial.
Special Position Requirements
Physical environment: access to dock, warehouse, manufacturing and production area in addition to office environment.
