Forensic Structural Engineer, Professional Engineer
Haag, a Salas O'Brien Company, a leader in forensic engineering, is seeking an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer in the Cleveland, OH area. The role will be performed from a home office, involving investigation and evaluation of damage due to storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design defects, accidents, foundation movement, and more. Compensation
Base salary: $120,000 – $180,000 per year. Variable compensation: $0 – $55,000 per year. Total compensation range: $120,000 – $235,000 per year. Responsibilities
Conduct forensic investigations of structural damage, provide analysis and reports, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, perform physical site visits as required, and maintain high‑quality client communication. Qualifications
Licensed P.E. in OH or eligible by reciprocity. 2–10 years of forensic engineering experience (5–10 preferred). Physical ability to work in confined spaces, on roofs, carrying ladders, etc. Local, regional, and national travel as needed. Independent and team‑oriented work skills. Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service orientation. Technical proficiency with computers, phones, cameras, etc. Expert witness experience preferred. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university required. Master of Science in the same field desirable. Benefits
