Job Description Forensic Structural Engineer Hiring in Tampa, FL | Remote Role with 50% Local Travel $120K–$140K Base Year-End Bonus Full Benefits | 401(k) About the Company A well-established structural forensic engineering firm is seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer to join their growing Florida team. Known for their technical quality, thoroughness, and professionalism, the firm specializes exclusively in structural forensic investigations, serving residential, commercial, and institutional clients. About the Role As a Forensic Structural Engineer , you will conduct property damage assessments, determine root causes, and prepare detailed forensic reports. This position requires a balance of independent fieldwork and precise reporting, with approximately 50% travel across Florida (typically two to three days per week). Comfort with intrastate travel is key to succeeding in this role. What You’ll Be Doing Conduct on-site investigations to assess structural damage from storms, construction defects, or material failures. Draft comprehensive, high-quality engineering reports. Communicate findings clearly with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders. Review peer reports and contribute to maintaining technical excellence. Balance remote home-office work with regular travel for field inspections. What You Bring Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; Master’s . Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida; NCEES Record . Experience: 2–3 years in forensic engineering, construction, building codes, or related structural investigations. Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Mindset: Dependable, analytical, and a strong cultural fit with a professional, client-first team. Mobility: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to travel up to 50% within Florida.
