Overview Reporting to the Controller and Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for analyzing and maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger and preparing managerial and financial reports. This role is also responsible for infusing MINT dentistry’s core values of Love, Perfection, and Generosity in the execution of all work performed while ensuring a MINT culture.

This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for the organization. In addition to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting entries, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other financial reports, this role will work on special projects, document processes and procedures, and develop or recommend enhancements to accounting processes.

General accounting/financial reporting related responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Monthly closing procedures and financial reporting

Reconciling sub‑ledger to general ledger account balances/monthly account reconciliations (including Intercompany)

Profitability trend analyses

Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas

Year‑end audit and tax package preparation

Special projects/reports as assigned

Responsibilities

Full‑time Monday to Friday

In‑person role at our Downtown Dallas location. Must be able to commute. No remote.

Infuse MINT dentistry’s core values of Love, Generosity, and Perfection in all work performed

Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting

Prepare journal entries to amortize prepaid, record accruals, and correct G/L account coding in accordance with GAAP and company policies

Review source documentation and verify proper G/L account coding

Complete assigned B/S account reconciliations monthly, researching and resolving any issues identified

Assist in preparing schedules and financial statements for external audits

Assist Controller, Assistant Controller and other department staff to close general ledger monthly

Review and authenticate accuracy of account balances and classifications

Analyze changes in account balances and make recommendations to correct errors as appropriate

Ensure transactions are posted to the proper GL account in the proper accounting period

Fixed asset management

Support Accounts Payable staff as needed

Responsible for special projects/reports as assigned

Establish and improve accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance REQUIRED

Demonstrated success working in a fast‑paced environment

CPA designation or pursuing CPA required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and financial accounting statements

In‑depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Experience with general ledger functions and the month‑end/year‑end close process

Hands‑on experience with accounting software packages

Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and more

Accuracy and attention to detail

Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

Clarity and accuracy of writing and verbal presentation and interpersonal communication skills

Highly detail oriented and organized

Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills and the ability to multi‑task

Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills

Ability to prepare and finalize major correspondence, reports, proposals, reports

Ability to work flexible hours, as required

Working Environment and Physical Demands The working environment for the Senior Accountant is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is generally performed in a well‑lighted office setting where the noise level is usually quiet to moderate and mostly sedentary. Required to stand, walk and reach with hands, as needed. Will occasionally be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. Extensive use of computer monitors, keyboard and mouse. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
