About the Exceptional Learners Collaborative (ELC)
The Exceptional Learners Collaborative (ELC) is seeking licensed applicants for the 2025-2026 school year. The ELC is located in Vernon Hills (Lake County), Illinois; it is a special education cooperative providing services to students identified with special needs, ages 3 through 22 years of age. The ELC represents Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96, Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 and Fox Lake District 114. The ELC serves eight elementary schools, four junior high/middle schools and one high school.

Responsibilities
Responsible for providing diagnostic therapeutic services to students identified with speech/language impairments.
Demonstrate knowledge of the nature of speech and language disorders including cognitive aspects of communication (attention, memory, sequencing, problem‑solving, executive functioning), social aspects (challenging behavior, ineffective social skills, lack of communication opportunities), communication modalities (oral, manual, augmentative, alternative communication techniques and assistive technologies), impact of hearing loss, second language acquisition, oral motor functioning and skills including feeding.
Qualifications
Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed for Speech and Language Pathology.
Ability to travel within the member districts of the ELC.
Experience with special education students preferred.
Salary & Benefits
Pay ranges from $55,350 - $115,000 depending on education level and experience.
This is a 10-month, Monday through Friday position.
