Responsibilities
Collaborates with the QFS Director to set strategic direction, implement process improvements, and oversee QFS programs (e.g., environmental monitoring, food defense, allergen control, organic/non-GMO certifications, sanitation, and risk assessments)
Leads customer, regulatory, and supplier audits; regularly audits QFS programs for continuous improvement; ensures accuracy and compliance across documentation such as specifications and product data sheets
Serves as the first point of contact for product quality incidents, investigates root causes, resolves issues in real time, and reports trends to leadership, operations, and sales teams
Develops and delivers QFS-related training materials, corrective action education, and provides technical guidance across departments to strengthen overall quality culture.
Partners with operations, lab, production planning, R&D, and customer service to develop SOPs, support new product testing, manage ERP item data, and streamline specification management.
Presents technical expertise to customers, supports R&D and sales initiatives, communicates proactively with management, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates a commitment to professional growth
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field with hands‑on experience in food production, including Organic, Non‑GMO, Kosher, and Halal requirements
Proven ability to manage direct reports and skilled in Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and report writing
Strong organizational, time management, and attention‑to‑detail skills with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and drive results with urgency
