Position Summary:

The Production Planner supports the Production Planning Manager in developing and executing detailed production schedules across Adams Specialty Oils and Adams Grain's internal manufacturing sites and third-party co-manufacturing partners. This role serves as a critical connection between Production, Procurement, Supply Planning, Customer Service, and Co-Manufacturers, ensuring that customer demand and business priorities are translated into executable and efficient production plans.

The Production Planner will coordinate material availability, capacity planning, and production sequencing to meet delivery timelines while optimizing resources and minimizing waste. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to ensure operational excellence across both in-house and outsourced production

Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and execute detailed production schedules for assigned manufacturing sites and third-party co-manufacturers, based on demand forecasts and confirmed orders. Coordinate with Customer Service to align production schedules with customer delivery commitments, providing visibility to potential delays or changes. Serve as the primary point of contact for co-manufacturing partners, communicating schedules, production requirements, and forecast changes. Monitor co-man performance against schedule, capacity, and OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) targets, escalating issues as needed. Work with Procurement and Supply Planning to ensure raw materials and packaging components are available for both internal and external production runs. Analyze capacity constraints, lead times, and production bottlenecks across internal and co-man sites, recommending adjustments to maintain service levels. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Logistics to ensure production plans are executable and aligned with operational capabilities. Maintain accurate and timely production data in ERP and planning systems, including BOMs, lead times, and run rates. Support new product introductions, packaging transitions, and seasonal builds with detailed production planning input. Track and report key performance metrics such as schedule adherence, inventory levels, and co-man production reliability. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, communication, and efficiency. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing or co-manufacturing environment. Experience managing or coordinating with third-party co-packers or contract manufacturers. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Infor M3, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar). Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities. Skills and Competencies:

Solid understanding of production scheduling, materials planning (MRP), and capacity management. Strong communication and relationship management skills with both internal teams and external partners. Ability to balance internal production priorities with co-manufacturing requirements. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on proactive issue resolution. Effective cross-functional collaboration skills with Customer Service, Procurement, Operations, and Logistics. Customer-centric and results-driven approach to planning and execution. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications:

APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) or equivalent. Experience in food manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume production environments. Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Bilingual in English and Spanish. Working Conditions:

Office-based role with frequent collaboration with plant teams, co-manufacturers, and Customer Service. Occasional travel (up to 10-15%) to production sites, co-man facilities, and the corporate office in Sacramento (expected completion Q1 2026).
