Consultant at Blacklock Group - Investment Banking & Private Equity A leading middle‑market investment bank is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in New York City. The team advises a range of financial services clients – including banks, specialty finance companies, asset and wealth managers, fintechs, and insurance firms – on M&A and capital raising transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day execution of M&A and capital markets transactions within the FIG sector
Develop and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses
Conduct company, industry, and regulatory research within key FIG verticals
Prepare client materials including pitch books, management presentations, and transaction documents
Manage and mentor analysts while supporting senior bankers in business development efforts
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in investment banking, ideally with FIG transaction exposure
Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and sector‑specific drivers (banks, fintech, insurance, or asset management)
Exceptional technical, analytical, and presentation skills
Proven ability to manage multiple live deals and workstreams in a fast‑paced environment
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree a plus
