Law Office Assistant 1 in the Fairbanks District Attorney’s Office, 510 2nd Avenue, Suite 200.
What You Will Be Doing The position provides legal and administrative support to prosecutors. Duties include typing and formatting legal documents, performing data entry, organizing electronic files, and communicating with outside agencies and individuals verbally and in writing to accomplish tasks.

Oral and Written Communication:
Effective presentations, listening skills, and appropriate responses.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency with computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems.
Interpersonal Skills:
Courtesy, empathy, and ability to work with diverse individuals.
Organizational Skills:
Gather, organize, and maintain information accurately and communicate it effectively.
Problem Solving:
Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
Experience and Education One year of experience providing customer service contact, performing administrative tasks such as correspondence, reports, filing, data entry, and maintaining logs. Regular use of electronic management information systems and standard business software appreciated.
Post‑secondary education from an accredited college or university (2.67 semester hours) in any area, or an associate’s degree or vocational‑technical certification in a legal support career (paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, criminal justice) may substitute for required experience. Vocational‑technical certification in a generalized business support area may substitute for up to 6 months of experience.
Special Requirements
Must be able to obtain a Notary Public upon hire.
Must pass a criminal background check and meet security requirements for APSIN and NCIC/NLETS.
Regular overtime during the standard workweek, weekends, and holidays may be required.
