The role is onsite. U.S. citizenship is required and a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) must be obtained before the start date.

This engineering position supports radar programs and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software Department. The team delivers real‑time, safety‑critical software for radar and command & control systems.

What You Will Do

Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.

Design, develop, and test software based on trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering builds to site multiple times a year.

Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests.

Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real‑time application software and tools.

Work on problems with open‑ended scope, schedule, and expectations.

Follow established development practices and processes to maintain configuration management of software products.

Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C/C++ for complex systems.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and implement new features, ensuring system integration and scalability.

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments.

Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications.

Design and develop tooling to deploy software to various lab and customer site environments.

Develop automation pipelines to streamline integration of upstream software releases and automate configuration management.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Stay current with industry trends and advancements in C/C++ technologies.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s of Science in STEM (minimum of 5 years of relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws).

Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team‑based environment.

Experience with C, C++, Java, or Ada.

Ability to obtain a U.S. government‑issued Interim Secret security clearance prior to the start date.

U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory) and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python).

Domain knowledge in Command and Control operations, Link16 tactical communication, HMI usability development, Mission Defense Planning, Simulation Modeling and Analysis, and Threat Evaluation/Weapon Assignment processing.

Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.

Strong communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts.

Proven experience with missile defense programs and large, complex systems.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with time‑critical requirements.

Team‑oriented collaboration and a culture of continuous learning.

Experience in project management or advanced knowledge of relevant systems and projects.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $82,000 – $164,000 USD.
