Our client is a well-established construction firm based in Bucks County with a strong reputation for quality workmanship and long-term client relationships, including extensive work at Princeton University. The company generates approximately $25 million in annual revenue and maintains a close-knit, stable team environment. The Bookkeeper will play a central role in managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and month-end close activities. This Bookkeeper position also supports project billing through AIA submissions, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is an experienced Bookkeeper with prior bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable & Billing
Review and process project billings prepared by Project Managers.
Issue and track invoices to clients, ensuring accurate amounts and timely delivery.
Manage collections and maintain up-to-date AR aging reports.
Accounts Payable
Verify project coding provided by Project Managers and ensure accuracy.
Maintain organized AP files and support payment runs.
Payroll & General Accounting
Process payroll and maintain related records.
Record journal entries for payroll, accruals, and prepaids.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts.
Assist in month-end close activities and preparation of supporting schedules.
Administrative Support
Assist with insurance certificates, vendor documentation, and other compliance requirements.
Support external audits by providing requested financial data.
Qualifications
3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in
construction
or
related industry
Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger structure.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and leadership.
