Job Type: Full‑time Location: Washington, DC Salary Range: $63,500.00–$70,000.00 (current posting) Role Summary
The Staff Accountant is part of the WindHQ accounting team and will work with Operations and Accounting personnel to achieve department objectives. The Staff Accountant will provide support for the Accounting Team in the day‑to‑day operations as well as preparing the monthly close for several smaller entities. Other duties include accounts payable and receivables work on some of our entities. The candidate should be detail‑oriented, accustomed to meeting deadlines, and able to succeed in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities
Produce journals that inform monthly P/L and balance sheet activity. Prepare accounting/reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Assist in budget vs. actual and forecast preparation process. Identify issues and report to management based on GAAP principles. Perform related duties and special projects as assigned. Updating cash forecast tables for various projects. Process inquiries related to core operations (AR, AP, Cash, Debt, etc.). Prepare AR and AP as needed for the area. Prepare various financial reports for non‑project companies. Manage monthly close duties as assigned by Supervisor. Prepare journal entries for assigned areas (including accruals, etc.). Complete monthly close checklists and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned areas. Requirements
A Bachelors in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college. A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in a business environment. Detail oriented with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization. Task oriented, results driven, and capable of multi‑tasking. Experience meeting deadlines timely on a consistent basis. Self‑motivated, unquestionable work ethic. Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work overtime as required. Actively solicits feedback to ensure all responsibilities, activities and deliverables meet expectations. Ability and willingness to respond to emails and phone calls after hours in the event of an emergency. Expertise in Microsoft Office suite applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook). What We Offer
