Role Summary
The Radiance/Solar Lighting Program Director is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Dalkia SIS’s Radiance and Solar Lighting Program, with a focus on deploying sustainable, off‑grid, and renewable lighting solutions for municipalities, commercial clients, and infrastructure projects. This role is critical to the successful execution, delivery, and expansion of the Radiance Program, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, contractual obligations, environmental standards, and customer satisfaction goals. The Director will oversee the planning, design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar lighting systems, while also guiding program strategy, team development, and innovation initiatives. This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and works closely with engineering, procurement, field services, and external partners.
Job Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Radiance/Solar Lighting Program across all stages of project lifecycle—scoping, design, permitting, construction, and commissioning.
Define and refine program goals, performance indicators, service models, and growth opportunities in alignment with Dalkia SIS's clean energy and smart infrastructure mission.
Lead strategic planning for market expansion and development of new solar lighting offerings.
Project Execution & Operations
Oversee the implementation of solar lighting systems in diverse environments (urban, rural, infrastructure corridors).
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with local and federal regulations, environmental requirements, and customer expectations.
Coordinate closely with internal engineering, permitting, installation, and support services teams to optimize field execution.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary program‑level liaison for municipal clients, community stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and internal leadership.
Manage customer relationships, conduct progress briefings, address escalations, and ensure high levels of satisfaction and trust.
Promote program visibility through presentations, demonstrations, and industry engagement.
Team Leadership & Development
Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary team including project managers, engineers, field supervisors, and technical specialists.
Set clear goals, measure performance, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative and innovative culture focused on safety and results.
Support professional development, training, and succession planning within the program team.
Environmental, Safety & Compliance Oversight
Ensure all Radiance/Solar Lighting projects meet applicable environmental compliance standards and permitting requirements, particularly for land use, endangered species, and energy regulations.
Champion workplace safety and environmental stewardship in alignment with OSHA and internal safety protocols.
Work with environmental consultants and permitting agencies to secure necessary approvals and mitigate risks.
Budgeting, Reporting & Risk Management
Manage program budgets, project‑level financial tracking, and vendor/subcontractor coordination.
Identify and mitigate program and project risks through proactive planning and issue resolution.
Generate reports, dashboards, and executive summaries detailing program performance, metrics, and milestones.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Promote adoption of emerging technologies in solar lighting, battery storage, and energy‑efficient controls.
Continuously evaluate program delivery models to identify process improvements, cost savings, and enhanced service delivery.
Support digital transformation, including the integration of remote monitoring, asset management platforms, and mobile tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field (required).
Master’s degree or MBA (preferred).
Minimum 7‑10 years of experience in solar lighting, renewable energy systems, infrastructure project management, or a closely related field.
Proven experience managing multi‑site or region‑wide technology deployments in public or commercial sectors.
PMP, NABCEP, PE, or other relevant industry certifications.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership and project management skills with experience delivering high‑visibility infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
Expertise in solar lighting technologies, off‑grid systems, battery storage, and smart lighting controls.
Working knowledge of permitting, zoning, NEPA, and environmental regulations related to solar installations.
Proficient in project management and field reporting tools (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, Power BI).
Exceptional communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—with ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
Commitment to safety, sustainability, and innovation.
Travel Requirements Occasional travel (up to 20%) to project sites, community meetings, or vendor and partner locations.
Work Environment This position is based at the San Antonio headquarters with regular coordination between office, field, and remote teams. Field presence and client engagement are essential aspects of the role.
