Zurich North America is looking for a Senior Actuarial Consultant for our growing Special Lines Pricing team, ideally based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL, Chicago, IL, New York City, NY, or Overland Park, KS.

The Senior Actuarial Consultant will support the actuarial and various underwriting leaders as well as be responsible for the pricing process for the Life, Accident & Health (L A&H) Business Unit. The Senior Actuarial Consultant and team will partner with Line of Business Pricing, Reserves, Data Analytics and Technical Underwriting teams, among others, to ensure optimal outcomes.

The Senior Actuarial Consultant is also responsible for the following:

Leads rate filing development of new products and product enhancements

Coordinates, prepares, and performs actuarial analysis

Analyzes loss and expense reserves

Provides consultation on actuarial models and risk issues

Supports A&H Market Facing and Technical Underwriters on A&H pricing decisions

Coaches others to employ teamwork and collaboration

Fosters collaboration and cross-functional interaction

Influences business decisions through effective communication

Leads actuarial discussions with business partners around profitability

Aligns customer service needs to business priorities

Promotes customer / client-focused culture

Sets an example for exemplary customer service

May oversee the work of less experienced actuaries

Senior Actuarial Consultant Basic Qualifications :

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree

OR

Bachelors Degree

AND

5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification

OR

10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification

Preferred Qualifications :

FCAS / FSA

Previous experience on product development, pricing, filing and experience monitoring of Accident & Health business

Team Leadership experience and desire to lead

Ability to effectively communicate and partner with the business

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to explain technical analysis results to non-technical audiences

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $213,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
