Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, bagging, receipts, and top-notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate customer issues and complaints to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance in coordination with the Store Manager.
Provide recognition and feedback to all store associates; input written feedback into the relevant HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities.
Schedule store associates following guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain guest service at all times.
Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify time worked for all associates.
Ensure store areas are clean, organized, merchandised per guidelines, and equipment is operational.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and shipment processes daily.
Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
Perform stock counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized.
Manage daily transaction totals, closeout paperwork, cash handling, and bank deposits according to guidelines.
Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report discrepancies to management.
Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
Maintain safety awareness; report injuries promptly.
Maintain store records/files and keep manuals up to date.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when the Store Manager is absent.
Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Be reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working alone; stand/move for up to 12 hours; ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks.
