Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions and concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, apply selling behaviors during every transaction, thank guests, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment and current sales initiatives, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/returns using the POS system, including providing receipts and ensuring high-quality guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate customer issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards).
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates and document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure associates know all job aspects, policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates according to guidelines, manage breaks, and monitor staffing to maintain high levels of guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off requests, and verify time worked for payroll processing. Maintain a clean, organized store, ensure merchandise is merchandised per guidelines, and keep fixtures and equipment in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipping. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; monitor belongings at closing or end of shift as appropriate and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies, record discrepancies in the POS, and communicate with the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain safety awareness and report injuries per company guidelines. Help maintain store records and manuals; supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all store policies, procedures, and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. Retail management experience preferred (at least 6 months); retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred (at least 2 years). Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills; ability to provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; meet performance expectations and safety standards. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills; complete required paperwork accurately. Flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work for long periods, stand and move, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform physical tasks as needed. May require onboarding related to military base store locations (where applicable).
