As our COO, you'll lead our transformation from our current practice to a 6x larger enterprise by 2031, scaling our innovative approach statewide through technology, systems excellence, and unwavering commitment to client empowerment.
You’ll build the operational foundation that enables us to level the legal playing field for every Michigan family while maintaining the personal touch that makes transformation possible.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Operations
Partner with CEO/Founder on growth strategy and operational capacity for statewide expansion
Design firm-wide systems architecture supporting 6x revenue growth across multiple locations
Lead organizational transformation while preserving our mission‑driven culture and client empowerment focus
Establish standardized processes for client intake, service delivery, and multi‑location operations
Technology & Innovation Leadership
Implement AI‑enhanced marketing, sales, and client onboarding systems
Develop automated billing, collections, and financial reporting infrastructure
Create performance dashboards providing real‑time insights into client outcomes and business metrics
Manage day‑to‑day technology investments; collaborate with CEO on strategic technology decisions and budget planning
Team & Department Leadership
Supervise department heads (Marketing, Sales, HR, Finance, IT) with focus on mission alignment
Scale HR functions to support 6x workforce growth while maintaining cultural cohesion
Lead change management initiatives during technology implementation
Build recruitment systems attracting talent aligned with our transformative approach to family law
Financial Operations
Collaborate with Fractional CFO on financial systems supporting statewide operations, expanding financial leadership responsibilities as the organization scales
Build billing department operations for significantly increased case volume
Develop multi‑location facilities management and vendor relationships
Collaborate on financial forecasting and planning processes enabling sustainable growth strategy and operational capacity planning
Success Metrics
Years 1–2: Drive operational transformation achieving significant revenue growth through efficiency and technology adoption; establish scalable department structure and systems and expand into new markets
Years 3–4: Lead expansion into additional Michigan markets while maintaining strong profit margins and operational excellence
Years 5–6: Establish statewide presence as Michigan's leading family law innovator through sustained growth

Proven track record

Experience building scalable systems and processes in growth environments
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or equivalent advanced business degree
EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) experience and certification
Family law operations experience
Multi‑location or distributed team management experience
3x+ scaling experience in $5M-$15M revenue range
Legal or professional services industry background
Experience with legal practice management software and workflow automation
Familiarity with AI applications in professional services
