Base pay range: $170,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

A full‑service paving and concrete company serving commercial, industrial, municipal, HOA, and institutional clients across Northern California is looking for a Director of Operations who will lead the day‑to‑day execution of company projects and oversee both asphalt and concrete divisions. This person will manage a large field team and two division managers while ensuring performance, profitability, safety, and customer satisfaction. They’re looking for a strategic, hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑moving construction environment who balances operational precision with people‑first leadership and knows how to drive growth without losing sight of quality or culture.

Salary Range: $170,000 - $190,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily operations for all asphalt and concrete projects

Manage and mentor division managers, project managers, and field crews

Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to high quality standards

Develop and implement operational systems, processes, and best practices

Monitor budgets, job costing, and financial performance to maximize profitability

Partner with leadership to set strategy and align operations with company goals

Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors

Enforce compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental standards

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Drive innovation and efficiency across teams and project delivery methods

Requirements

10+ years of experience in construction, paving, or concrete operations

5+ years in a senior management or director‑level role

Proven success leading large teams and managing high‑volume projects

Strong understanding of production scheduling, estimating, and project delivery

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook

ERP or project management software a plus

High school diploma

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business preferred

Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities

Experience in the paving and concrete industry is required
