based in the Greater Philadelphia Area. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a talented Project Controller to join their dynamic team! Position Overview
As the Project Controller, you will serve as the primary financial partner to the Operations and Project Management teams and the CFO. You will be pivotal in controlling costs, maximizing project profitability, and supporting strategic decision-making by ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust forecasting, and effective budget management across all projects. Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including but not limited to variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modeling, to evaluate project performance, costs, and revenue projections. Manage the monthly and quarterly WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedule review and preparation, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Work closely with project teams to monitor contract terms, change orders, and subcontracts, ensuring accurate job cost tracking and timely customer billing. Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long‑term financial plans in collaboration with project managers and department heads. Develop and maintain project‑level cash flow forecasts, monitoring billings, collections, and retention to optimize working capital. Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track project profitability, cost efficiency, and overall financial health. Provide detailed job cost management reports, analyzing commitments, expenditures, and forecasts to maintain tight control over project budgets. Prepare and present accurate and insightful financial reports, summaries, and presentations for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making on resource allocation, project feasibility, and growth initiatives. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial workflows, enhance efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including operations, procurement, and project management to align financial goals with operational strategies. Identify potential cost overruns, schedule impacts, and contractual risks; partner with project managers to mitigate issues and quantify claims. Support internal control procedures for job cost accounting, change order processing, and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policy. Serve as a key user and subject matter expert for financial modules within the ERP or construction management platform, supporting system enhancements and training project teams. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, with experience in the
construction industry
or a related field highly desired. Experience with WIP and percentage-of-completion (PoC) accounting. Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to non‑financial stakeholders. Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred
