Job Overview Standard Nuclear is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to play a key role in managing the company's financial operations. This position is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate records, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and assisting with audits and compliance efforts. The accountant will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while contributing to Standard Nuclear's growth through disciplined financial management. Reports To Director of Finance
Responsibilities Accounting Operations
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
Prepare and post journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and perform monthly reconciliations.
Support payroll processing and ensure proper expense classification.
Assist in maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Reporting & Compliance
Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial statements.
Assist in preparing internal reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records for audits and regulatory reporting.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
Budgeting & Support
Assist with preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Support cost tracking and reporting for operational and capital expenditures.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and support decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices.
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required.
