Job Description This field-based role requires living within a reasonable distance of the primary city. The successful candidate will execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships to maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance.
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
Create pre‑call plan objectives and execute post‑call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance.
Handle objections and concerns to consistently close on sales calls.
Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships for win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers.
Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, and share market intelligence with in‑field, brand, and sales managers.
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition, identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, business‑related field preferred; or equivalent industry experience with at least five (5) years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry (3+ years preferred) and high school diploma/GED required.
In‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized expert resource by stakeholders.
Strong business acumen, strategic and critical thinking skills.
Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style and behavior.
Proven track record of sales success and solid presentation skills; able to operate in matrix environment.
Leadership and collaborative partnership skills; documented success in leadership roles.
Preferred: Proven success in sales performance in therapeutic area; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account‑based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing).
English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non‑English speaking countries).
Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and remain in good standing for the assigned territory.
Drive a personal or company vehicle; valid driver’s license; meet safe driving, drug screening, fingerprinting, and license requirements.
Key Stakeholders
External: Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, others based on brand plan.
Internal: In‑field team members, Sales Management, Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, brand plan stakeholders.
Additional Information
Compensation range represents possible base pay at time of posting; may be modified.
Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
