Our team is working with a leading endowment in Boston to hire a Tax Analyst for their growing team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Tax, the analyst will be familiar with fair‑value financial reporting principles and the tax implications of various investments, including public equities, options, derivatives, private equity, and more. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the preparation and review of tax returns such as 1065s, 8802s, 1042s, and providing tax treatment for foreign investment corporations, including PFICs and Foreign Controlled Corporations.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

Work with the Associate Director of Finance and central teams to provide timely, accurate, and complete information for the preparation of tax returns.

Assist in the review of tax returns prepared by outside consultants to ensure accuracy related to investment activities.

Liaise with the central Financial Accounting and Reporting team on matters related to investment accounting, general ledger, and retirement plans’ annual reports.

Support ongoing monitoring, projection, and analysis of investment income excise taxes.

Facilitate required regulatory and rating agency reporting regarding U.S. and non‑U.S. requirements, as appropriate.

Work with the Associate Director of Finance to ensure timely completion of audits for investments and managed investment affiliates (currently 12 entities).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.

At least 5 years of experience in asset management and private funds financial and tax accounting, both liquid and illiquid strategies.

Knowledge of GAAP accounting requirements and tax rules as they apply to investment companies and private fund structures.
