Job Description
As an Accounting Advisory Manager, you will be responsible for teams that consult with clients on complex accounting transactions. You will help clients address their transactional, regulatory, and strategic needs — all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. More specifically, support on complex accounting matters arising from regulatory or strategic business changes such as adoption of new accounting standards, accounting framework conversions, IPO or other public offering assistance and on‑call accounting advice, among others.
From day one, you’ll be empowered by the greater CFO Advisory team to help clients make the moves that will help them achieve their vision and help you achieve more, confidently.
Your day‑to‑day may include:
Leading multiple engagements and consulting on complex accounting transactions
Consulting on technical accounting matters including adoption of new accounting standards, preparing technical accounting positions, and providing support around transaction audit review
Providing transaction accounting support for transactions including business combinations, carve‑outs and initial public offerings
Preparation of financial statements and SEC filings including 10‑Ks, 10‑Qs, 8‑Ks and pro‑forma financial views
Assisting clients in getting ready for first‑time audits or providing audit readiness support
Providing on‑call assistance
Ensuring work is performed timely, with quality, and in compliance with regulatory requirements
Identifying market trends to be a proactive problem solver and sought‑after adviser to clients and colleagues
Training and supervising less experienced colleagues and providing consistent, regular feedback
Working at a client site, with your team in the office or remotely, with the flexibility to determine when and where to work
Representing the company at recruiting and professional networking events
Building your technical and professional skills through formal training
Other duties as assigned
Technical skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related disciplines required; Master’s degree a plus
Minimum 5 years of experience in providing financial statement audits, accounting advisory services, or corporate accounting/finance center of excellence experience focusing on complex accounting transactions
Active CPA license required
Working knowledge of accounting standards including ASC 606 and/or ASC 842, complex debt, equity, and employee compensation topics, audit readiness support, IPO process or other capital transactions, organizational restructuring (acquisitions, carve‑outs, spin‑offs, and post‑deal accounting), GAAP conversations, and financial instruments
Analytical and technical skills including proficiency in US GAAP, SEC reporting rules and standards, accounting transactions, or mergers and acquisition services
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities
Value teamwork, agility, and strong relationships
Skilled at leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel as needed; expected travel up to 30%
Salary Information:
Base salary range for this position in New York and Boston, MA only: $121,000 – $181,400.
Base salary range in Chicago, IL only: $112,000 – $168,000.
Base salary range in San Francisco and San Jose: $128,800 – $193,200.
