We're seeking a
Senior Mechanical Engineer
to lead the mechanical and equipment design for our advanced pyrolysis plants—including critical systems like pyrolysis reactors, heavy oil condensing, and carbon finishing units. This is a high-impact role supporting the completion of an ongoing brownfield project and driving forward a new greenfield initiative. You'll play a key part in scaling and commercializing cutting-edge clean tech. What You’ll Do
Develop the design basis for key process equipment (pyrolysis reactors, condensing systems, etc.) Lead design, scale-up, and fabrication of mechanical systems central to our proprietary process technology Create detailed mechanical designs aligned with process targets: yield, throughput, runtime, and quality Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external consultants/contractors to execute design deliverables Serve as the Owner’s Mechanical Lead during FEED and EPC phases—reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets and specifications, RFQs, and more Review and approve complex engineering analysis: stress, thermal, FEA, and CFD simulations Develop equipment specifications (pumps, heat exchangers, valves, etc.) and define QA/QC processes for fabrication and procurement Support upgrades and revamps at existing operating facilities, collaborating closely with Operations and Maintenance teams Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (ASME, API, TEMA, etc.), especially relevant to the pyrolysis industry Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in field operations, from construction to commissioning What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 12+ years of experience in mechanical/equipment design within oil & gas, gasification, or pyrolysis industries Strong background in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and piping systems Advanced skills in interpreting and creating PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, and layout designs Experience as owner’s lead engineer in an EPC environment Deep understanding of industry codes (ASME, ASTM, API, TEMA) Proficiency in FEA/CFD modeling and tools like AutoCAD, Caesar-II, SolidWorks, ANSYS Hands‑on experience supporting field design, construction, startup, and commissioning Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills Detail‑oriented with a strong quality mindset Proven ability to lead projects and work within cross‑disciplinary teams Bonus: Knowledge of bulk solids handling and pneumatic system design We offer a competitive benefits package designed to support your personal and professional growth:
