Full-Time Faculty Psychology
position to begin Fall 2026 for the 2026‑2027 academic year. This position will be responsible for developing and teaching psychology courses. Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including online, hybrid, and in‑person. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction to improve student learning outcomes. They will also demonstrate the use of varied teaching techniques that help students develop critical thinking, research skills, and understand the relevance of psychology in their lives. The successful candidate will participate in professional development, engage in assessment activities, attend faculty and committee meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. The position is an on‑site position requiring campus presence. The Psychology faculty reports to the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in the instruction of psychology to a diverse student population with various learning styles and abilities.
Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing upon disciplinary knowledge, skills, theories, issues, research, and applications to design engaging and effective learning experiences.
Maintain the appropriate number of office hours at times of day convenient for students.
Provide meaningful feedback and timely responses to students’ work and questions.
Meet all division, department, and college deadlines.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and reporting attendance as required.
Keep careful grade records throughout the academic term.
Attend scheduled faculty meetings and training sessions.
Perform ongoing student, program, and college assessment activities, including analysis of course assessments, evaluations, and data to engage in continuous improvement to enhance student success, retention, and completion.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field.
At least 18 hours of successful coursework in psychology.
Teaching and/or professional practice/work experience in psychology or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
Community college teaching experience.
Expertise using a Learning Management System such as Canvas and using technology to enhance student learning.
Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and quality matters certification (e.g., Quality Matters).
