Position: Correctional Industries Supervisor 2 (CIS2) – Food Service
Description This permanent supervisor position focuses on managing daily floor operations in the Correctional Industries (CI) food service unit. Duties include supervising and training incarcerated workers, ensuring food quality and safety, maintaining schedules, and overseeing inventory and equipment.
Responsibilities
Provide supervision and training of incarcerated workers and staff.
Supervise training of workers in equipment and tool safety, operation, and maintenance.
Monitor adherence to HACCP, progressive cooking techniques, portion control, and food quality control measures.
Conduct monthly, weekly, and daily staff meetings and one‑on‑ones.
Document and provide feedback on staff and worker performance per DOC policy.
Plan and schedule production/services; direct and assign workers.
Coordinate production and scheduling with other staff.
Develop and operate preventative maintenance schedule for equipment.
Monitor and verify SOP compliance.
Maintain safety training records and investigate accident reports.
Participate in safety committee meetings.
Maintain security and discipline over workers; execute tool‑control processes; account for inventory.
Maintain accurate timekeeping for workers; develop SOPs; support continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to set and manage priorities; promote positive relationships.
Proficient in HACCP principles.
Minimum of 2 years full‑time experience in a food service or institutional feeding environment.
Preferred: 2 years experience as a CISA or supervisory experience in a correctional environment.
Three or more years experience in food service or supervisory roles (desired).
AA degree or higher preferred.
