$3,333 to $4,221 per month (SR‑09, Step C to I)
Responsibilities
Computes, adjusts, and prepares bills involving pro‑rated charges for a variety of services and payers.
Determines and verifies charges for a variety of medical insurance plans, prepares bills to insurers and/or patients, and checks the status of a patient’s medical plan for verification.
Qualifications
Legal Authorization To Work:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
General Experience:
One (1) year of work experience demonstrating the ability to perform arithmetic computations, compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately, and read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
Specialized Experience:
One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience involving the computation and preparation of bills and demonstrating knowledge of office practices and procedures, operation of common office appliances and equipment, billing methods and procedures, and the ability to interpret and apply billing regulations and policies.
