ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Scion Legal, the national legal recruitment division of Scion Staffing, has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Interim Attorney to assist with an active federal litigation counter‑suit based in Washington, D.C. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned litigator who can independently manage filings, motions, and court appearances within the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The selected attorney will play a key role in shaping and executing counter‑litigation strategy within a high‑stakes breach of contract matter.
RESPONSIBILITIES Review existing case materials, filings, and counter‑suit drafts. File pleadings and manage all stages of the litigation process in federal court. Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft persuasive motions, memoranda, and briefs. Represent the client in hearings and court appearances as needed. Cite applicable precedent and ensure procedural compliance throughout the case. Collaborate with leadership and external counsel on strategic decisions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. 5–10+ years of experience practicing law with significant federal litigation exposure. Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation and counterclaims independently. Proficiency with federal e‑filing systems and legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis). Exceptional writing, analytical, and courtroom advocacy skills.
