We have an immediate opening for an experienced Architect to join our Education Studio in a project management role. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative, in-office environment—someone eager to learn, share knowledge and grow alongside the team as we visit our University campuses. What you’ll be doing
Oversee projects from design conception to construction completion while focusing on meeting budget, timeline and client specifications
Lead the team of Architects, Engineers and Interior Designers who manage design development, coordinating construction documents and resolve any issues that may arise
Support the Principal in Charge in addressing client priorities and maintaining smooth client relationships, while remaining motivated, organized and passionate about projects
Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants on projects
Mentor and work closely with junior staff to review their work and support their career development
Work on multiple projects of varying sizes, providing project management and internal team guidance through every phase of design
What you need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an NAAB-accredited institution
10+ years of professional architecture experience, with 4+ years of experience working on commercial, institutional, and / or education projects
Professional licensure required
Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Newforma
Experience in project management including consultant coordination, design and construction document preparation, and field observation through construction administration
A desire to work collaboratively with team members in a constructive and engaged manner onsite in our Richmond office
Excellent organizational and communication skills with an ability to listen carefully and analyze information
Experience managing / mentoring staff
The ability to travel to other Baskervill offices or client project locations as needed
