The Governor’s Office of Administrative Services is seeking a dynamic problem solver to serve as a
Staff Accountant
in a small team oriented environment. This role performs a variety of governmental accounting and record keeping functions related to grant disbursements, accounts payable work, budgeting, and procurement. The individual selected will have the opportunity to work in a service focused role supporting multiple offices across the entirety of the state's executive branch. The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented professional with a passion for public service who excels at solving problems and working as part of a collaborative team.

Performing accounting and record keeping functions for disbursements, which includes ensuring that all disbursement requests are in accordance with applicable law, rule, and policy.
Drafting of budget requests and expenditure schedules for the Governor’s Office in the WVOASIS system.
Assisting with administration of grant distributions from the Governor’s Office.
The position will utilize the WVOASIS platform to complete a variety of financial reporting.
Performing accounts payable work for the Governor’s Office.
Position serves as the backup to the Administrative Coordinator, and will complete payroll accounting on an as needed basis.

On-Site position located at the West Virginia State Capital Building
Full-Time with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PM
Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years of clearly demonstrated experience in governmental accounting.
Preferred Skills
Preferred candidate will have knowledge of WVOASIS system and demonstrated experience of completing financial reporting in this platform.
Clearly demonstrated work history of governmental accounting, budgeting, and grant administration work.
