Save Job

Infinitum has raised the bar for a new generation of motor that is better for the planet and people. The company’s patented air core motors offer superior performance in half the weight and size, at a fraction of the carbon footprint of traditional motors, making them pound for pound the most efficient in the world.

Infinitum motors open up sustainable design possibilities for the machines we rely on to be smaller, lighter, and quieter — improving our quality of life while also saving energy and reducing waste.

Based in

Austin, Texas , Infinitum is led by a team of industry experts and pioneers.

This individual will work closely with Product Development, Compliance, Quality, and Test Engineering teams to translate mission profiles and field data into structured reliability plans. The role includes designing and executing automated reliability test systems using LabVIEW and TestStand and requires familiarity with instrumentation such as torque sensors, thermocouples, and high-voltage power analyzers.

A commitment to data-driven decision making, safety, and adherence to ISO 17025 practices is critical for success.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed reliability test plans aligned with product requirements and application environments.

Design and execute long-duration test protocols including thermal cycling, vibration, electrical overstress, humidity, load cycling, and accelerated life testing.

Use LabVIEW, TestStand, and NI CompactDAQ hardware for data acquisition, logging, and test automation.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of failures using structured methodologies (5 Whys, Ishikawa, Fault Tree, etc.).

Define and track reliability metrics such as MTTF, MTBF, FIT rates, and failure distributions.

Collaborate with design and compliance teams to drive reliability improvements and support certification readiness (UL, CE, ETL).

Participate in FMEA sessions and support risk mitigation activities across the product lifecycle.

Maintain accurate and traceable records for all reliability testing in compliance with ISO 17025.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the lab and test infrastructure.
