Position Overview The
Supply Chain Specialist I
supports regulated laboratory operations by managing the daily workflow of reagents and consumables-from receiving and storage to distribution and inventory control. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, accurate record-keeping, and seamless material flow to support laboratory and operational needs. Regular onsite presence is required at FMI's Boston location.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and process both
GMP
and
Non-GMP
materials in
ERP
and
Laboratory Management Systems . Manage inventory using
Kanban
and
5S
principles to maintain optimal supply levels. Conduct
cycle counts
and maintain accuracy of inventory records. Support
shipping and logistics
for inbound and outbound materials, including domestic shipments. Create
material requisitions
in ERP and coordinate with the
Procurement Team
to track deliveries. Follow all
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
for inventory control, safety, and waste management. Ensure compliance with
FDA ,
ISO ,
CLIA , and other
Quality Management System
requirements. Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with quality standards. Participate in
continuous improvement initiatives
within the Supply Chain department. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications:
6+ months of experience in
inventory
or
materials management Previous experience in the
pharmaceutical ,
biotech , or
molecular technology
industry Hands-on exposure to
inventory management systems Prior
shipping and receiving
experience Strong
attention to detail
and
organizational skills
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work in a
laboratory environment
with chemicals and reagents Follow protocols for
cold room handling
and
safe equipment operation
(pallet jacks, etc.) Capable of lifting up to
25 lbs Manage multiple tasks in a
fast-paced , changing environment Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines professionally Strong
interpersonal ,
communication , and
problem-solving
skills Knowledge of
HIPAA
and patient data privacy requirements #TM2
