We are seeking a Controller to join our growing Manufacturing and Logistics client. This is a new position and will oversee the daily financial operations of several locations. This position will oversee the daily functions of 5 individuals that include AP, AR and Payroll. You will be skilled in implementing opportunities for process improvements to streamline operations as the business continues to grow. The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting activities for the manufacturing and logistics operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis, with a particular focus on cost control, inventory valuation, and profitability for both manufacturing and supply chain functions. The Controller will work closely with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making to achieve business goals. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management: Oversee general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for the manufacturing and logistics departments. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management. Analyze manufacturing variances and supply chain costs. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring performance against budget and driving accountability. Cost Control & Profitability: Implement and manage cost accounting systems to monitor manufacturing costs, control expenses, and improve job profitability. Inventory & Logistics Oversight: Work with operations to ensure accurate inventory valuation and management, coordinate with the logistics team to monitor supply chain transactions, and ensure on-time deliveries. Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, government regulations, and internal control standards. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial and operational efficiency within manufacturing and logistics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements. Asset Management: Safeguard company assets and participate in reviewing asset inventory and utilization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA is preferred. 7+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with significant experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and supply chain management principles. MUST POSSESS A HIGH LEVEL OF EXPERTISE IN SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY. This knowledge is essential for the Controller's role which involves overseeing the systems and processes that support the Financial Operations Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
