The Aquatic Director leads the aquatic department and provides leadership in expanding aquatic programming in providing a safe environment. Manages the delivery and development of various program areas(s), such as health/wellness, aquatics, teens, childcare, and/or other programs. Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include hiring, onboarding and training of staff and volunteers; curriculum development; providing budget input; and adhering to all regulatory and Association standards. This is an entry-level management position that considers the size, scope and budget of the program area and/or branch in classification. Must be 18 years or older Previous lifeguarding experience including knowledge of lifeguarding principles required Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, AED, and Blood borne Pathogens Transferred Ellis & Assoc. lifeguard certification within first 30 days of employment Complete four hours of Ellis & Associates in-service training and scanning skills Demonstrate maturity in relating to people of all ages and abilities Ability to lead and motivate others and earn respect Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire Two-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred Two years of related work experience preferred Experience directing programs through supervision of volunteers and staff Previous experience with diverse populations YMCA Team Leader certification preferred Must be fluent in spoken and written English Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
