Tech
to support our client’s medical facility based in
Bethesda, MD . This is a
local contract or travel contract

Position Summary The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to produce high-quality images of organs, tissues, and blood flow for physician interpretation. This position ensures patient safety and comfort, maintains imaging equipment, and follows established imaging protocols and safety standards. The technologist works collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care and accurate diagnostic results. Key Responsibilities Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders. Prepare, position, and screen patients for MRI procedures, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines. Operate
GE MRI scanners
to acquire high-quality diagnostic images. Perform and assist with
breast MRI procedures
(experience preferred). Manage patient workflow efficiently by
flipping rooms
and preparing equipment between exams. Review images for diagnostic quality and completeness before submitting to radiologists. Educate and orient residents, staff, and student technologists on MRI safety and operational procedures. Collaborate with nursing staff, including assisting with medication waste documentation in Pyxis when applicable. Maintain equipment, troubleshoot minor technical issues, and report malfunctions. Ensure compliance with infection control, MRI safety, and departmental policies. Document all procedures accurately in electronic medical and radiology record systems.
Education & Training: Completion of an
AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology
or equivalent (typically a two-year college or technical school program). High school diploma or GED
required; associate degree or higher preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent MRI experience required. At least one prior travel assignment
in MRI strongly preferred. Experience with
GE MRI scanners
required. Breast MRI procedure experience
preferred. Prior experience in another imaging modality a plus.
Licensure & Certification: ARRT (R) (MRI)
certification required. CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
required.
Skills & Competencies Comprehensive knowledge of MRI physics, anatomy, and imaging protocols. Proficiency with GE MRI systems and related imaging software. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills. Ability to assess and prioritize workload effectively. Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous professional development.
Work Conditions Hospital or outpatient imaging environment with direct patient care. Requires frequent standing, walking, and assistance with patient positioning. Exposure to magnetic fields and medical imaging equipment.
Additional Information: Location: Bethesda, MD Job Type: 13 weeks- local contract or travel contract Shift: Day Shift (4x10-hour shifts) Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pay Range/Salary Range: $2850/wk to $3050/wk
