Position Overview Responsible for establishing, implementing, training, and auditing all project controls items across the Industrial Services platform. The project controls specific items include all items in the project lifecycle, such as interface with Preconstruction (opportunity tracking, estimating and proposal development), contract management, budgeting, project planning, costing, production tracking, scheduling, document control, subcontractor management, and forecasting. Project Control Managers are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in their field and service line and will provide direct support to projects as needed.
Job Duties
Opportunity Tracking
Implement and enforce opportunity tracking SOP within a CRM from RFP to Award.
Manage project handoff to Estimating for all qualified leads.
Ensure bid log data is accurate to track win rate and other sales data.
Estimating Support
Review and provide feedback on the SOP for estimating process.
Support estimating effort and participate in bid reviews.
Create feedback loop to incorporate project execution best practices.
Support development of new T&M rate sheets for each region.
Project Lifecycle
Project Setup SOP: Budget, Accounting Interface, Work Plans, PO’s and Accrual Setup.
Project Execution SOP: Work Plan, Daily/Weekly Costing, Production Tracking, Scheduling, Document Control, Contract and Subcontract Management, Customer Invoicing, Forecasting, Month End.
Project Closeout SOP: Punchlist, Postmortem, Final Billings, Warranty, Lease Closeouts, Demobilization.
Compliance and Reporting
Work with Regional Operations Management to ensure compliance with SOPs.
Key Performance Indicators: blended gross margins and revenue accrual metrics.
Measure newly developed KPIs such as supervisor training levels and audit pass rates.
Additional Responsibilities
Support resource management across divisions.
Support current projects and address margin erosion or customer relationship turbulence.
Conduct up-front customer interactions as needed.
Perform month-end consolidation of project financials and other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in construction of industrial projects.
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
Experience with HCSS Heavy Job, P6, Viewpoint, or similar estimating/vscheduling software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and technical writing.
Driver’s license with a clean record and background check clearance.
Minimum 4 years as a Project Manager in any field.
Humble, Hungry, and Smart personality traits.
Potential Hazards
Work on uneven surfaces, extreme temperatures, active construction equipment.
Manufacturing, refining and other industrial environments.
Exposure to noise, odors, gases, limited visibility, and extreme heights.
Adverse weather conditions for travel and air travel.
