Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE: Under the direction of the AS/SDSU Sport Club Coordinator, the Assistant Coach for the Women's Club Lacrosse team will assist the head coach with planning and administration; design and implementation of practice schedules and training; coordination of team travel; recruitment and retention efforts; alumni engagement; and promotion and marketing of the lacrosse program. The position averages 15-25 hours per week and requires availability for morning, evening, and weekend hours, including home and away competitions. The role enforces rules, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Sport Club Handbook and complies with policies and procedures established by Associated Students/SDSU, the Sport Club Program, WWLL, and the WWLAA, while serving as a positive role model for the program and SDSU. Responsibilities

Complies with all job expectations as outlined in the Associated Students/SDSU Sport Club Coaching Agreement Supervises team practices, training, competitions, and travel Ensures individual and program compliance with all policies and procedures of Associated Students/SDSU and Aztec Recreation Ensures safety of all team members, assistant coaches, and equipment Assists team members in achieving recruiting goals Designs and implements practice schedules and training schemes for morning and/or afternoon practices Ensures scheduled practices begin and end on time Assists team members in achieving fundraising goals Coordinates travel arrangements Assists with equipment maintenance and repairs Works with team officers and coaching staff to develop and achieve program priorities Maintains the team's positive community standing Outreach to alumni to recruit support for the team Represents the team in regional or national meetings with other coaches or organizations Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications

Bachelor\'s Degree preferred Proficient knowledge of Aztec Recreation programs, facilities, and policies Microsoft applications, Aztec Recreation website access Knowledge and/or participation in Aztec Recreation programs and facilities preferred American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required (online courses excluded) Valid California Driver\'s License and proof of automobile insurance Anti-Harassment, Workplace Violence Prevention Plan, Gender Awareness trainings (must be completed within 30 days of hire) California Defensive Driving Course Schedule & Working Conditions

This is a part-time position. Flexibility to work up to 25 hours per week; schedules vary according to team needs. Employment Category
