Senior-Level Electrical Designer - Kiewit Power Engineering Position overview: We are seeking Senior and Lead Electrical Designers to join our Power Engineering team with a focus on 3D modeling, design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems for plant processes in Power Generation. This role supports a surge in demand for power across North America driven by electrification, data center growth, increased cooling needs, decarbonization efforts, and alternative energy solutions. Location: Hybrid schedule; offices may include Lenexa (KS), Lone Tree (CO), Houston (TX), Detroit (MI), Phoenix (AZ), Chattanooga (TN), Charlotte (NC), Raleigh (NC), Boston (MA), Woodcliff Lake (NJ), or New York City (NY). Remote flexibility is available. Responsibilities

Lead projects and teams, delivering electrical designs and 3D models for power generation projects using SmartPlant3D and Navisworks, applying applicable engineering codes. Develop electrical component and complete system layouts (duct banks, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding, lighting) from concept to completion using engineering documents, sketches, or vendor data. Generate raceway, lighting and power plans, sections, P&IDs, and perspective drawings from the 3D model. Manage schedule, scope, budgets, and forecasts for assigned projects, lead team meetings, and report progress and issues to the project lead team (level of responsibility depending on experience). Coordinate with project team via Project Database processes (Request for Review, Holds List, ECN, RFI from other disciplines, etc.). Develop 3D models, check for interferences and constructability, and mentor junior staff on the project. Route electrical cables in 3D to generate a cable schedule; model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs. Perform calculations to verify NEC-compliant conduit and cable tray fill and size pull boxes; verify voltage separation requirements. Create plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables; ensure design quality, safety, operability, and maintainability. Resolve checked drawings, respond to comments, and complete miscellaneous tasks to support project development; act as a field resource to assist construction in field resolutions. Qualifications

10+ years of experience in electrical component and systems design, with recent Electrical Physical Design experience (circuit and raceway) in Power or heavy industry with above/below-ground electrical systems. Highly proficient with 3D modeling; preferably SmartPlant3D, or other 3D CAD tools with Power or Oil & Gas electrical systems experience. Experience in power generation electrical design is preferred. Experience generating raceway, lighting and power plans, sections, P&IDs, and perspective drawings from the 3D model; ability to lead team meetings and manage project progression for Lead Designers. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment and mentor junior designers; experience with budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting for lead roles. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently with limited direction. Working Conditions

Compensation and Benefits
