We are seeking Senior and Lead Electrical Designers to join our innovative Power Engineering team. There is currently a surge in demand for Power across North America, due to a convergence of many factors that are reshaping the energy landscape like electrification, data center growth, increased cooling needs, decarbonization efforts, and alternative energy solutions. Responsibilities
Lead projects and and teams, delivering electrical designs and 3D models for power generation projects, using SmartPlant3D and Naviswork, applying applicable engineering national and local codes.
Electrical design experience includes component and complete system layouts including duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data.
Generate raceway, lighting and power plan, section, P&ID's, and perspective drawings from the 3D model.
Depending on experience level, manage schedule, scope, budgets and forecasts for assigned project, lead team meetings and report on project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team.
Coordinate with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions.
Develop 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. Check and navigate interferences and constructability and guide, review and mentor more junior staff on the project.
Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule.
Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs.
Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements and size pull boxes.
Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements.
Gather information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met.
Create plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables.
Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures.
Check design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
Resolve checked drawings; prove and understand comments made.
Complete miscellaneous tasks to support project development.
Act as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues.
Qualifications
At least 10+ years’ experience in electrical component and systems design with recent experience with Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway), in Power, or heavy industry where you are doing above and below ground electrical systems that deliver and connect power – required.
Highly proficient with 3D modeling, preferably using SmartPlant3D, but will consider proficiency in other 3D modeling/CAD tools with experience in Power or Oil and gas electrical systems.
Experience in power generation electrical design is preferred.
Electrical design 3D modeling experience includes all of the following: component and complete system layouts including duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data, as well as performing relevant calculations.
Experience generating raceway, lighting and power plan, section, P&ID's, and perspective drawings from the 3D model.
Depending on experience level, manage schedule, scope, budgets and forecasts for assigned project, lead team meetings and report on project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced and multi‑discipline team environment with the proven ability to lead others on a project.
Experience working with budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting on a project required for Lead Electrical Designers.
Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to mentor more junior designers.

Base Compensation $104,000/yr - $150,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
