Overview This position is within VIZIO’s Information Technology team. The Application Developer (Solution Consultant) works closely with the business and across IT to design and implement BI systems and software. The role involves analyzing business requirements and system integration considerations to determine appropriate business intelligence solutions, documenting requirements, and translating them into system specifications and configurations. The candidate will define technology solutions to support current and future business needs and communicate with end users about new technology and enhancements.

What you’ll do

Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align IT solutions with business initiatives.

Work with business users to define and analyze problems and identify the most appropriate technical, application, or configuration solutions.

Solicit, develop, document, and manage requirements; provide detailed design and business rules to support the project lifecycle up to and through change control.

Consider the business implications of applying technology to the current and future environment; review system test plans and modules before implementation.

Create, review, and deliver end-user documentation (user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and assist in acceptance testing with end users.

Develop detailed implementation and upgrade project plans with other account team members; provide advanced input on processes, procedures, or new approaches.

Create business process flow charts for customer and technical review; establish communication plans for knowledge transfer.

Support multiple business areas, functions, or processes; build relationships with customers to ensure service levels are met.

Display full functional knowledge of the area of responsibility; work at the highest technical level across systems analysis, considering business implications of technology.

Utilize best practice project management and quality processes to maximize team performance.

What you will bring Education : Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field with 0 years of relevant experience.

Skills & Knowledge : Strong knowledge of database systems development, data modeling, systems development methodology, and relevant development technology skills.

Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of applications programming and analysis and the impact of solutions on business and IT functions.

Applies knowledge to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems.

Capable of working in all phases of applications programming; demonstrates the ability to multitask and offer complex programming solutions.

Maintains thorough knowledge of key business processes, current and future requirements, and success factors.

Communicates effectively with leadership about business issues and how technology supports requirements.

Demonstrates deep subject matter expertise; contributes to new techniques and plans within area of expertise.

Understands company goals, customer requirements, and competitive practices; aligns solutions with business priorities and strategy.

Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.).

Business systems knowledge in consumer goods and distribution industries, including Demand, Supply & Allocation Forecasting, Inventory Management, Logistics Management, and Sales Distribution.

Advanced proficiency in MS SQL Server and components for designing optimal reporting solutions (MS SQL Server Edition).

Advanced proficiency in development skills: T-SQL, SQL development (Stored Procedures and Functions), and ERD schema design.

Proficiency in Python; basic knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau for reporting; knowledge in Microsoft Analysis Services, SSIS is a plus.

Knowledge in cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Databricks) a plus.

Benefits and compensation The annual salary range is provided as $96,000.00–$186,000.00, with potential additional compensation including performance bonuses.
