Roers General Contracting is looking for a Director of Construction to provide leadership, oversight, management and training to all Roers General Contracting team members for day-to-day operations and to be ultimately responsible for the successful execution of all RGC projects. The role will ensure all project teams follow RGC procedures and will establish new or changes to existing procedures as necessary for continued improvement, along with associated training. The Director of Construction will recruit and staff all project team personnel and foster internal team relationships, with a passion for team development. This position requires strong self-awareness and active listening to mentor and coach project teams, and may be required to engage heavily in project issues to satisfy the Owner’s needs. The role will ensure all Roers General Contracting personnel are held accountable for their roles and responsibilities and that service to clients is of high quality and timely. Through hands-on leadership, the Director of Construction will exemplify the company Core Values in all business dealings. Key Responsibilities

Oversight of Project Executives: Leadership of all Roers General Contracting Project Executives in the region of operation; work closely with Roers General Contracting Senior Director of Construction Operations in the assignment of project teams to execute new projects; instill in all project teams the core values of Roers Companies. Operations Procedures: Become a subject matter expert in companywide Best Practices and conduct training on that topic to fellow employees; provide operational accountability; recognize areas for operational improvement; identify changes necessary; engage internal team members; facilitate discussions and develop an action plan; implement action plans and monitor progress; follow up until actions are consistently followed; participate in company-wide initiatives to achieve key goals; maintain primary profit/loss responsibility for all construction teams and projects and promote job cost integrity. Roers General Contracting Internal Team Meetings: Ensure monthly project update meetings with appropriate team members; ensure project executives provide monthly reporting to executive leaders; lead Operations Focus Group meetings; participate in Level 10 meetings and help develop quarterly Rocks; lead bi-weekly Operations Workload and Workforce meetings with executives; conduct weekly one-on-one coaching with direct reports; participate in internal Monthly Financial Projection and Project Update meetings; lead monthly operations meetings; provide ongoing communication of progress on initiatives; lead Department Update presentations; ensure internal Preconstruction meetings are conducted; schedule quarterly staff communications on state of the company. Field / Office Relations: Promote positive working relationships with project management and field teams; work with Safety, Quality Control, General Superintendent, Project Executives, and Project Managers for field and office support; direct field personnel to meet project schedule, budget, and quality standards. Schedule and Workload: Track project assignments to balance workload; recommend hiring to maintain adequate capacity; determine staffing needs; coordinate recruitment and involvement in interviews and hiring decisions; manage offer letters with HR; evaluate optimum team size for workloads. Training and Development: Identify topics and set monthly Operations Meeting agendas; facilitate training classes; monitor onboarding processes; establish annual performance goals for direct reports and their teams; provide guidance for professional development; align quarterly and annual goals with company objectives; work with project executives and general superintendents on training for software-based programs. Budget Management: Work with senior leadership to establish annual budget goals (including G&A expenses and margins); provide quarterly budget updates; develop action and recovery plans for projects out of budget compliance. Qualifications

Education:

BS Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred Work Experience:

15 years of project management experience preferred; priority given to experience in multi-family housing construction; working knowledge of building codes and ADA laws; demonstrated understanding of multifamily construction means and methods Demonstrated Technical Competencies to include: Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); demonstrated experience with Procore, Procore Financials, and Procore Pay Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $154,700 - $197,300 Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including experience and skills.
