The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Design and Engineering Services is looking for an Engineer/Architect 2 in Wasilla to help us Keep Alaska Moving! What You Will Be Doing

This is a project management position which plans, manages, and controls all the activities necessary for the development of small to medium capital improvement projects of average complexity by coordinating the efforts of in‑house design staff and/or private architectural and/or engineering consultants, functional groups within the Department, and other agencies. You will manage a multidisciplinary team(s) to deliver the mission and you will be provided the opportunity to make a significant impact on Alaska\'s transportation infrastructure. You will be leading others in the development of capital improvement projects which will preserve and/or modernize the highways in which all Alaskans rely on. Our Organization, Mission, And Culture

As a project manager you will be responsible for the planning, organization, and ultimate success of transportation improvement projects within the Department. You will collaborate with multiple functional sections within the Department, lead staff from multiple areas of expertise, communicate and inform the public of projects and progress, and coordinate with multiple federal and state agencies to bring together capital improvement projects in Central Region thereby delivering the mission. Working Environment

This position is part of a team focused on Mat-Su area projects in the DOT&PF Central Region. The office is in the Mat-Su District building in Wasilla, AK. The office promotes a team atmosphere of mixed discipline staff, with flexible days off (RDOs) and part-time telework. Travel to project sites may be required for short durations.
