Chief of the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine . CHLA’s Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine has been a pioneer for five decades in providing expert, specialized care for children with pulmonary and sleep disorders. CHLA is ranked in the top 10 in the U.S. and #1 on the West Coast on the U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for 2023-2024, and the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine is ranked #11. The Division Chief reports to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Keck School of Medicine, and works closely with other Division Chiefs. The position includes an academic appointment at KSOM at the level of Associate Professor or Professor, appropriate to training and experience. Applicants are required to have an MD or comparable degree, outstanding qualifications in clinical care, education, and research, board certification in Pediatrics with subspecialty certifications in Pediatric Pulmonology and preferably Sleep Medicine. Responsibilities

The Division Chief will oversee the clinical, research, and educational activities of the division, lead recruitment efforts, and ensure career mentoring for division faculty and fellows. The Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine is currently comprised of 13 faculty, 7 fellows, and 75 staff members including nurses, dietitians, technicians, social workers, and administrative personnel. The division treats children with a wide range of complex pulmonary and sleep disorders, including asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital central hypoventilation syndrome, aerodigestive disorders, infant chronic lung disease, respiratory failure, interstitial lung disease, pneumonia and other conditions from infancy through adolescence and young adulthood. The program also diagnoses and treats the full spectrum of sleep disorders in our AASM-certified Sleep Center. The division participates in regional, national, and international research efforts, including membership in the Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) Collaborative and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Therapeutics Development Network, and active participation in the Aerodigestive Society. Notably, the division was among those receiving a $1.5 million grant from HRSA to develop a leadership program for pediatric pulmonology health care professionals. Strong administrative, clinical, research, and financial support will be provided, including staff, infrastructure, endowments, and institutional resources. Qualifications

MD or comparable degree with outstanding qualifications in clinical care, education, and research. Board-certified in Pediatrics with subspecialty certifications in Pediatric Pulmonology and preferably Sleep Medicine.
