ECI is opening an office in the Chesterfield, MO area and has an opening for a substation project engineer. This is a great opportunity to help start and grow a new office location. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction, and commissioning/startup support through energization. Engineering responsibilities include the development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications. A Project Engineer assists the Project Manager in the planning and execution of best-in-class projects, including client and stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, project quality assurance, and oversight of design engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff. Project Engineers coordinate the completion of specialized tasks with ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), Transmission & Distribution Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls. Qualifications Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. 6+ years of project and design engineering experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organization and planning skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Commitment to quality and accuracy. Willingness to meet fast?paced project schedules. Advanced knowledge of power engineering principals and expertise regarding applicable codes, standards, and design tools. Basic project management execution skills and ability to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team. PE license preferred. Experience in utility or merchant power industry a plus. May be subject to client?mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving required; subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
