full-time History Faculty
position to begin
Fall 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year . This position will be responsible for developing and teaching American History survey courses, African American History, Women in American History, and World Civilization I-IL. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction to improve student learning outcomes. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the use of varied teaching techniques that help students develop critical thinking, research skills and understand the relevance of history in their lives. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Faculty are responsible for instruction, grading, record-keeping, and compliance with legal and institutional obligations. Instructors should expect to meet all deadlines and to use standard software, including the Microsoft Office suite, as appropriate. Instructors must conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Maintain the appropriate number of office hours at times of day convenient for students. Provide meaningful feedback and timely responses to students' work and questions. Meet all division, department, and college deadlines. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and report attendance as required. Keep careful grade records throughout the academic term. Attend scheduled faculty meetings and training sessions. Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in United States History or American Studies At least 18 graduate hours of approved coursework in American History. Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in History or American Studies, with a focus in American History Community College Teaching Experience Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and are Quality Matters (QM) certified To apply
