Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using the POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and uphold top-notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards loyalty programs.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.
Schedule store associates, manage breaks, and supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service levels.
Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify compensation for time worked.
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in proper working order.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipment.
Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and perform required administrative duties.
Conduct store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and ensure sufficient cash and change; make deposits as required.
Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager.
Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists.
Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations promptly; report injuries per guidelines.
Keep store records/files neat and organized; ensure manuals are up to date.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.
Key Skills & Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.
Genuine, individualized guest assistance during every visit.
Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives.
Work independently and in a team; perform tasks promptly.
Adherence to attendance, safety, and respectful workplace standards.
Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system and basic math and clerical skills.
Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
Ability to work alone and stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs.; physical requirements as described.
Onboarding awareness of military ranks and insignia (where applicable).
Pay $19.25 - $23.25
