Responsibilities The
Licensed Commercial Insurance Agent
is responsible for servicing and managing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, providing expert advice, risk assessment, policy recommendations, and ongoing support. This role requires strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and carrier-specific requirements. The agent ensures clients receive the highest level of customer service while maintaining compliance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
Assess business clients' insurance needs and recommend appropriate commercial insurance products (e.g., general liability, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, property, professional liability, etc.)
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular contact and timely follow-up.
Prepare quotes, proposals, and renewal packages using carrier systems and agency management software.
Process new business applications, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and certificates of insurance accurately and promptly.
Act as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve underwriting, claims, and billing issues.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in the agency management system.
Stay current with product offerings, carrier guidelines, and industry trends.
Comply with all state insurance regulations and continuing education/licensing requirements.
Participate in cross-selling and upselling initiatives to expand coverage portfolios.
Meet or exceed performance goals and client satisfaction metrics.
Required Qualifications
Active Florida Property & Casualty Insurance License
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial lines insurance
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and carrier underwriting requirements
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with agency management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360) and quoting platforms
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an independent insurance agency environment
Familiarity with CRM tools and digital communication platforms
