Overview
This mid-level Contract Systems Administrator role sits on the Information Technology team for a growing biotech manufacturing company. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Windows Server environments, Hyper-V, Azure (Local), and Veeam, and thrives in a fast-paced, regulated (GxP-controlled) environment. You will support IT infrastructure, lab/manufacturing (OT) systems, and end-user technologies to ensure uptime, compliance, and efficiency. This is a hands-on position that requires a balance of technical expertise, customer service, and documentation rigor. You will collaborate with internal teams to support daily operations and infrastructure projects while ensuring systems meet both IT and operational technology needs. Base pay range: $42.00/hr - $45.00/hr Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Windows Server environments running on Hyper-V and Azure Local platforms. Manage Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other core IT services. Provide operational support for backup infrastructure using Veeam, including configuration and continuous improvement. Support the configuration and management of manufacturing, laboratory, and clinical/R&D systems — hardware and software. Ensure infrastructure adheres to GxP standards and validation processes. Administer and enhance Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. Manage Microsoft cloud services including Azure, Entra, Intune, and M365 to enable scalable operations. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls. Optimize network performance and security; maintain proper documentation. Maintain comprehensive documentation for network and server configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Partner with internal teams to deliver technical guidance and support on IT/OT projects. What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent professional experience. 4-7 years of experience as a Systems Administrator. Demonstrated experience supporting Hyper-V, Windows Server, Azure Local, and Veeam. Hands-on experience in GxP-controlled environments is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, etc.). Expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, RDS/VDI, and cloud administration. Familiarity with supporting OT/laboratory environments in a regulated industry is a plus. Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, Azure Administrator are a bonus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing habits. Proactive, resourceful, and collaborative team player.
